Thorney Island run (photos by Tark Mills)

Tark says this was the first time he had been  to Thorney... and I was real impressed ...and can't think why he had never got it together before and gone . As It's only along the coast from Him after all ...

It Turned out to be one of the best shows he had been too ,. lots of space, a beach,  sun, beer, Tanks crushing cars ,a drag strip , hot rods & Kustoms and good atmosphere .

No Captions sorry but if you can help Identify any of these cars or owners please send the info to me website@uk-hotrods.co.uk

Over 900 cars entered this year, excellent turnout, great drag racing, the fiat 126 beating the cossie escort was good, the blue fiat 126 doin 180 degree burnouts was far out! Some 8 second cars there as well, (not running 8s there tho!)

Commiserations to the guy in the black F100 outside the Barley mow, who trashed his diff during a burnout, had been drag racing it earlier so too much I suppose.
Met up with Dave (pop) Boycee, Tootal, Wayne and Anita (Boycee!!) as well.

Weather was blindingly hot, very suntanned now!! Victory Wheelers did us all proud with the weather and the show, well done to them, can't wait for next year.

Goodwood was also excellent, I would recommend everyone to go if they can, I will have a load of photos of the cars on the web in a few days time, loads of corvettes, inc the "Mako Shark" original! "Hemi under Glass" was also there, very nice, with an original Superbird as well.

There was the "Tomahawk" bike, a Dodge Viper V10 powered concept, which actually goes! I sat in it later on and it was a perfect fit, beautifully sculptured, awesome!!

As for some of the pre war Auto unions, and other cars, WOW!!!! absolutely beautiful!! hand crafted polished aluminium bodies, Ally engines, gleaming black chassis and suspensions, absolute works of art, Hot Rods of their day!! Most were good for at least 120 mph as well, with rod brakes!!!!???!!! brave men indeed in those days!!

Make a date for it next year as an extra day before Thorney everyone!!
