This Wild Ride is a creation for person unknown to me and built by Nick Butler a well known and respected Rodder and builder from the 70's.
Mark from the ukhotrods e-mail group spoke to the owner for
about an hour and this is the info he gleamed and observed.
He showed him all the tricks it has, very cool! There are so many little bits to
find on it, it would take a couple of days to find them all. Mark did ask how
much it cost him, but he would not say, except to say that it cost him
effectively nothing!?! As it gave him the drive to turn his business around to a
big profit (he has sold it) which he reckons he would not have done otherwise.
He has got his sights set firmly on Oakland in the states to show how the Brits
can do it. Good luck to him. As for the costs, well Nick Butler did quite a lot
of work on it for him (6 Years) and no-one says Nick is cheap!!!
Fancy bits are;
Hydraulic/electric EVERYTHING!!!!
Tailgate:- electric motors move top out to clear bodywork and then it hinges
upwards
Flip front:- hydraulic latches lock it shut, also open it, with safety shut off
if fingers get in way.
Wiper valance:- electrically hinges forwards to reveal wipers/back to hide.
Body:- Hydraulics lock it and also lift it up, it hinges at the rear.
Seats:- Electrically move forward for access/adjustment.
Body:- originally ally (it was a fire truck) but 3/4 of it has been hand made.
there is NO filler ANYWHERE. All edges are rolled AND beaded.
Wheels:- too small at moment, big billets will go on later.
Plus lots more!!!
Now then what colour what colour scheme it must be about the hardest decision
to make as the paint and colour etc will make or break it, the paint makes a
great rod into a stunningly great Rod.. I personally cant wait to see it finished..
and who is gonna get the job of painting it anyone know??
Well I'll stop papping now and go have a lye down... Seeya!
Update owner is Dave Brown.
