Despite being an early Easter this year the weather forecast was good and a crowd of Victory Wheelers met up at 8am at the traditional Wickham Square. A few recent acquisitions have boosted the number of member rods on the road and our convoy must have looked like the fair had come to town, as we rumbled through the villages up to Aldershot. Missing from the cruise were Martin with a bust master cylinder in his '32, Mark with his '32 roadster still in the works and Calvin choosing Harley power over Chevy.
After a nice little cruise we pulled up to Rushmoor Arena, just after 9am and the place was humming. Last year we got the front row but this time we were parked in the 3rd row back - and it doesn't open till 10am !
Brian's A and My 32 parked at Wheelsday
The cars were coming in thick & fast and the huge arena soon filled up. Some doubtful gate control let in a few 'unusual' cars however - there was a stock Cavalier near me proudly displaying its entry number! There seemed to be more traders then ever this year, including Duksville, Home Grown, Danny's Chevy Parts, Pop Brown's, North Hants Tyres etc so we all got the bits we were looking for. Walking round the trade stands took so long that by the time we went back to look at the cars there were plenty of gaps appearing. The showfield was so full that show cars had to be parked on the slopes overlooking the arena.
Plenty of top class rods there. Roy Pitter's bikes drew a big crowd.
So ugly its cool! Neat Model A truck in progress looking good
Neat satin blacked pickup. T with all the

Cool cats hang out Fully-loaded Bug

Bristol Boy's fat arse! Mark Churcher's wicked Caddy
So many of great cars. Check that side-hinge

Some of the Wheeler's included Danny's A,
Terry's woody Calvin's revamped Harley
In the end the promised sunshine appeared, and by prize time it was pretty warm.
Wheelers chairman Mick picked up a pot for his T
(below) so he was well chuffed.
The organisers had put up signs on the exit road
saying 'NO BURNOUTS PLEASE' but on most signs the 'NO' had been covered by bits
of paper and a few enthusiastic Rodders smoked 'em for the big crowds who were watching
the cars leave. Wade Pilkington (streetroddinginmotion) was busy videoing the
day so expect an event DVD out soon
Another great Wheels' Day - thanks to the Surrey Street Rodders once again. Simon Phillips.
