Nasc not so southern Swap meet !

Hey Hi all, well the Hot Rodding season has finally got under way for me, and it was great to meet up with a few of me old mates and find out what is going on in the world or UK Hot Rodding.

Look at this photo, a fun day for all the family see and they are all smiling *nice one*

Me and me bessy mate Pudzz, finally made it to Northampton International Raceway after going veer the scenic route, how the heck can it be called and International Raceway and have no road signs to it? Any way using my mobile I hooked into Dusty Nav and that/he directed us to the Oval Race track, the venue for the annual NASC swap meet. First impressions was that there were a lot more punters here than other years.

What can you say.......you lot are car mad! ;o)

Geordie Paul (Duksville) was the first professional Trader we came across and his place was buzzing, which made me feel chuffed as he is a great guy and also shows that UK Rodding is vibrant. He had plenty of stock and prices look good to me. I bought some Thrush glass pack straight through mufflers, from the recommendation of Gaz O'Conner... I want my Truck Loud, as Loud pipes save lives as we all know Grrrrrrr  Had a good crack with Gaz and then got into some serious looking round, I didn't want to miss any bargains did I. Pop Browns was mega busy, I did want to order a steering shaft but being the dozy git that I am, I left my old shaft at home so couldn't order one same spline as I didn't know what it was.... Terrrrrr. I was real tempted with an  Iron Cross rear tie bar for my Jag rear that Chris (Pop Brown) was selling but Pudzz talked me out of it..... I still might get it yet though, even if it is the wrong style for my Truck.... Unwritten Rules eh who needs em not me   ;o)

Studebaker was a great shape and would make a very cool Rodded Truck, Chevy with most work already done.

There was a lot of guys clearing their garages out selling stuff and a few professional traders, Kerry Tate's was Buzzing with some cool parts and again great prices. Things looked brisk everywhere really, met a load of people from the ukhotrods e-mail group (we help each other get our projects done and develop strong friendships through it, with people we would not otherwise get to know). I bought a few bits, though I wish the Uk Rodding scene was a lot lot stronger or popular as we do seem to be a little insular. You couldn't go to a UK swap meet any uk Hot Rod swap meet that is and get all you would need for a total build, you still have to do some research and asking about to get most parts *shame* But that said they are a must do event if you are doing a project or updating a finished one Ha Ha finished are they ever ;o)

Not sure why this truck was blindfolded, I love the shape of the 50's Chevy's

There were quite a few cars for sale in the centre of the swap meet, if you were in the market for one with  good choice of varied styles and tastes. After a good look round it was, cool drink time and seen as we were down south we thought we had best have a shandy eh didn't want to look like foreigners in a strange land did we ;o)

Now this was nice, great colour choice, interior matched and gorgeous wheels, finished the package.

Groovy liddle Morris Oxford I think Ha HA me and car spotting I don't get any better do I

Nice Roadster was all there, would make great daily or good base for a rebuild your choice.

Barry's Mad Blown Tanker was cheap at £6k try buying the parts, complete with built in rear tyre sidewall heaters ;o)
300E Vans always look great fun, I would like one as a daily maybe next after the F100 is done or at least after all the parts have been bought. I like this I like it a lot.

Well a worthwhile trip for me all 480miles of it, great weather, some good company and a good kick start for the UK Rodding season and me to get on with my project.
