You Show me and I'll show you (Mind your Manor's)

Show day the weather was a lot better than the previous 2 days and even got out sunny as the day drew on.

This 27T has been around a long time and still looks the bees knees ( see ya don't have to be vulgar and say its the dogs bollix eh) I have a photo of it from a yank meet I went to in the 80's at Avon Park, I must put it on the old photos pages.

The show field was 100% better than the caged area of old at Drayton and has moved the show on ward and upward.  The outer area had quite a few traders and most looked like they were doing brisk trade. Geordie Paul struggling to keep up as he seems to be on first name terms with every bugger. But he finds time to speak to each and everyone, even though he is busy as hell, he's not on first name terms with me though as he always calls me Holmes ;o)

Some cool Rods appeared for show day, but also an alarming amount of std Yanks, which I have nothing against but this is a Rod Run and there was a bit of a lack of Rods it seemed to me, unless I have been spoiled in years gone by. I wish we could have the Rods in one area and the yanks in another but I guess it would be to much work and cause untold hassle, as who would decide what was a Rod ;o) Mind you a std Yank only area would be easier I guess and make looking round the cars I/we? enjoy and go to the rod runs to see a much simpler affair.

I bought some bits for my project, but really I need to be working on it, not gallivanting about show fields buying lights and fuel filters when the Truck is so far away from being done. The top debut Rods that usually come out for the first time at the Springnats, I struggled to identify though the superb Chevy truck at Reality took my eye, along with this neat Red A and this flamed Blue A coupe, I think they were fresh out but I could be wrong I often am.

The hit of the show for new vehicles for me was this stunning Chevy Truck outside the reality stand.

Matt Black looked real hard on this quartet,  B, 2 Pops and an A35 Van. I think the red wheel and grill treatment on the Pop really works well.

I make no excuse for showing these two Top Top cars, Dave Browns A40 Van seems to be so controversial I love it why people cant just enjoy it does my nut in. I heard that people deliberately blanked Nige Lockleys's incredible 34 creation, and I know people/Rodders do the same with Daves A40 Man how cool would that be to create a Rod so wild people wont look at it hope mine is that good Ha Ha ;o) The 46? Chevy Truck I could live with everybody else on the planet hating if I owned it I think it is a totally wild eye popping work of art.

Scalloped sides, white roof along with white walls on chrome smoothies make this A sedan stand out from the pack.

I thought this Corsair looked smooth and trick, lovely 40's Ford again with smoothies and whitewalls another of my favourites.

Wild Zephyr Zodiac er Consul? wish I knew what I was on about it, it would make life easier.. what ever it was, it was mad. This Fordson shone like a bald guys wet bonce  under a floodlight, when the sun shone on its superb green metalflake. I never thought metalflake would really look tasteful again after the 70's but it did on this cracker.

Is this a cool coral of rods and chops or what. Gaz O'Conner's 34 Truck still the best ever sporting a whole heap of 97's.

Daz (Satisfactions mate) never shows this side of his Y in any photos does he ;o) and I like the bird catcher scoop apparently it follows the wheels as the Y turns corners ... allegedly!

Great looking Rod outside Duksville, and Dooster also came out to play, look out for the thier latest Rod at Billing. Again look Martin Palin (forefront) turns away as soon as the camera is spotted.. Though Tracey pose's all sexy like, never one to miss a photo shoot... allegedly ;o)

Well maybe this was my pick of the show.... along with the Truck on the reality stand... Yeah!

Well that was that really, we all had a bazzing time, met some great people as usual saw some superb cars. Drayton is a fantastic venue and great for families and a Rod Run for sur. Highlights for me??? Well Dave Biggadyke recognised me and waved which made me feel very important, going for a blast in Gaz O'Conner's 34 Truck was awesome, this 32 and the Chevy Truck stand out to me as class, Nige Lockleys for the sheer wow factor... I love Drayton and the extra camping area and new show feild are a vast improvement lets hope it becomes the massive event for Rods that in my opinion it should be Groovy! I never stopped for the prize giving as we had to be home early and I am not a great lover of prizes and trophies.... in fact I don't like em, another Rodder stopping to admire your work or ride is prize enough... so do it ;o) There is probably loads more I could write but I must get in that friggin garage and get my blasted Truck done, the time at the Springnats has me all fired up to do it ... but chores have put paid to my enthusiasm for the time being.... Seeya at a Rod Run eh. Next one Billing yeehaa!
