The show ground was filling nicely when we got back and was looking pretty impressive. Paul Gartside was one of the early riser's in his stunning A Delivery. The one sight that sticks in my mind as how mind blowing some of cars are, was the arrival of Ozzy's old flamed Willy's I apologise to its new owner for not remembering his name, I was told by a couple of the Riverside lads what it was but I have a real naff memory, sorry Dude. Apparently its new owner bought the Car sans it mega blown motor but with the distinctive bug scoop and fitted his own mega blown motor so it looks just as it did and Ozzy is using his old motor in his new Steel Willys Cool eh!
It is an
outstanding Rod and must absolutely shock normal
people going about their daily drive. Picture Mr average with Mrs Sour face sat
next to him, they are sat
at the lights with Tarquin and Molly sat in the back screaming, when this
pulls up along side, making the family 03 Volvo
windows shake... Mr Average looks right and his jaw drops.... the kids go
silent, Mrs Sour face goes into shock as the Flamed willys sits there and
rumbles...... then in a roar of absolute madness it blasts away.
With the Mr Average family stunned into silence, sat motionless in a state of pure shock...... the cars behind start to parp their horns.... then the Volvo slowly pulls away, Mr Average botom lip is quivering the kids shout "get one of those Dad" ... "Daaaad Dadddd can we get one of those Cars with the flames on and the parachute on the back.. go on ...go on Dad" Dad smiles and dreams *If I sold the Volvo got a cheep run about* *if only* .... for a few short seconds he is in it blasting away from it all, Mrs sour face, the kids, everything, he is free and running wild......... then he feels it!! the dragon breath, the snorting from the sour faced one.. ya know she who must be obeyed.. He looks to his left... its there.... pure stark normality... a face that would make beer curdle, its normality for the rest of his days. She snarls "don't you even think about it!" .....he whimpers back" no dear I wont" ......He lets out a big sigh, a rye smile, then sinks back into his seat, sets the cruise control and carries on his way, another Mr Average having to be happy with his lot.. :>) ..
Er Sorry about that I am not sure where that came from, it just spilled out? *hum?*
Talking of wild cars that cant but help to impress take a look at this
Just the Maddest Pro Street Kustom around don't ya think
Pair of Matt Black Cool cars but equally as Mad on the street. Firenza is crazy and Pop is mega cool with just
the right amount of Red.
I know the Humber is a Riverside members car but can I remember his name.. er
can I heck as like Terrrr. Red A was very useable and looked well.
Proper view of A super neat A40 Delivery.
This A looked ace with the scallops and chrome grill and many neat touches,
owner looked the part aswell that's him stood at the side.
Damian from the Wirral braved the weather on the Sunday in the freshly painted
I think and blown A. Dave Browns A40 stunning as ever great view from this angle.
Enough of them shiny cars lets have a cool rusty hack eh *nice one*
There is a distinct lack of Rod Trade stands at the Wet and Wild which is a shame as I was in a buying mood but nothing to spend my dough on. There was a Tool stall which was well stocked but I wanted goodies for my Truck build. There were plenty of good food stands though and a fairly big fairground. The solitary Low rider was very well executed and put on a great display watched very intently by a gang of local scally's on push bikes, budding Rodders no but gangsta's in motors yeah I fear!
Gaz O'Conner's cool as ever Moon Equipped 34 Truck and a couple of the afore
mentioned Scally's on bike's in the background.
Soon it was Trophy time and seemed like everyone had stayed to see who won what.
Dave Brown best engineered looks friggin fantastic to me and deserves far more
recognition than it gets in my opinion.
The Irespresible Gaz gets a well deserved Trophy, I would love to have the bolix
to run round in a Rod like this.
Paul Gartside in his Cool as firk A Delivery.
