The Fat Lady has sung!

*Phew*.... How do I write this last page... where to start? Well hear goes I will give it my best shot. The Truck has been on the road now 9months and it had been an absolute ball. It drives beautiful and I am over the moon with how it looks and the reaction it gets where ever I drive it.

Finally Done!

I did decide to wait to do this page until the feature had been on Custom Car and yep its was in this months *April 2009* and looks well though the paint looks a lot better in the flesh and when the sun hits it. The interior Mick Shepherd did is awesome and I did say to CC that I couldn't thank him enough. though it wasn't mentioned. so Mick I cant thank you enough for the awesome work you did with the interior ;o)..

I did a run up the strip and did a 16.0 dead so was very disappointed so have now installed an RPM cam lifters, Airgap inlet and 650cfm Avenger Carb.. so expecting a better time this year and man it sure does feel miles better on the street. Just a few little niggles to sort now and I can definitely call it finished.

A cool shot I thought showing the modified grill.

I decided to lift it back up rides better with passengers and towing.

Runs great on LPG and makes the long drives much more fun as it aint robbing me for fuel. Sold a few of the parts I wasn't needing and bought some new repro window winders, that turned out to be absolute shyte and so I am now having to buy some original ones to rebuild with parts from the Repro ones.. whaaa whaaa. So the truck is off the road and has been for a couple of months while I sort this dilemma out * Ya live and learn eh*

Roof Console done as best as I can be arsed for now.

Interior in all its glory Thanks to Mick Shepherd

That's about it really, fitting a better ariel as the radio reception from the one fitted is useless and annoying as it goes in and out of frequency. So enjoy the photos and that's that. Most of my thoughts about I have written in the 2008 rod run reports. Cheers and thanks to all who have enjoyed this saga and stayed with it all the way through, giving me help and encouragement when I have needed.

Ha Ha I love this shot, look at my face all worried and apprehensive as I get in to take it for its first drive since the rebuild and to its MOT

And out the drive on its first journey.

Horrendous wind noise resulted in me fitting original style door seals to the top only. I had the soft seal fitted all round the doors but didn't quite seal on the top, a lot better now but not 100% wind free.... er but it is a 54 year old truck so I am ok with that ;o)

The frigging brand new wiper system, had a wiper pivot seize?? and then first time in the rain coming back from a run the worm gear sheared... Chinese crapola I guess.. all fixed with another new motor and a pivot from the original system... yet to try in earnest though so fingers crossed its sorted for good.

Oh and yet more fun, I decided to lift the rear suspension and leave it lifted and guess what.. the sodding locking wheel nuts (new) wouldn't undo, the key socket rounded off. So I had to grind flats on the nut and twat a socket on and undo that way.. so I now have some much stronger ones from MrTee ( Maurice Takoor)..

The afore mentioned crap repro window winder regulators.. worked once and all the teeth rounded off????? So now awaiting a pr of original ones I can rebuild with the springs and shafts off these.. Grrrrrrrr

Finally got round to making a caravan towing mirror using a spare F100 mirror.

Should give me a good view for overtaking now and keep me legal ;o)

Doesn't look to bad I don't think.... for a towing mirror anyway. I will remove the extension once at the Run and the van is unhitched.

So that's it then all finished and all I need now is to keep enjoying it, that is if the fun police don't fuk it all up, for us. Byee and thanks for reading all my shit!
