I Got Wood
Been working 18hr days on the Truck and I am knackered. Its not just the work its overcoming the problems and just plain awkward jobs. I have found it quite traumatic to be honest and struggle to keep marching forward. I am getting hassle from quite a few directions but I cant let it scupper the finish.

Here you can see where the bed strip bolts sit right on the Jag crossmember and with around 1/2 gap between the floor and the crossmember you can imagine laying on your back they are fun to get to.

So I came up with this piggy back spanner that worked a treat, I couldn't quite bring my self to weld a ratchet spanner to my old spanner but it worked.

Then the anti-climb bar crossmember was the same in the bloody way... yeah fun all the way.

But standing back the look of the real English Oak bed spurred me on.

Then next hassle was the rear rolled pan pretty much blocked the access to the rear bolts.. So I had to come up with a plan ;o) and blue tack was the answer.

I then fed the rod with said blue tack and nut adhered to that up into the black abyss known as the rear panel... once it was started on the bolt, I could get on with a long socket and wind the buggers up.

One nut you can just see here was impossible with the rolled pan to access, so I had to cut a slot out to get a nut on oh Joy!

Looking good eh.

I forgot the final photo of the bed wood ;o) but My good mate Pudzz came up and helped me for a full day, and we bossed the bolts that hold the bed to the chassis, fitted the rear fender welt and fenders. then onto the tailgate, which has been a bit of a pain, with the pro's pick gate latch that is pretty crap.... but I will write more in the next installment. I could not of done what I did today without Pudzz help and he was a star " what a great mate". He also thought my exhaust looked better in a tad and I agreed... well still a way to go. I didn't make Drayton with its debut ;o(
But I do intend still to get to Billing, I may not be the most popular person in our house by doing so... but I have given up to much or my life not to debut at a show like this.. maybe not 100% finished but very very close, bar a major catastrophe that is... so keep your fingers crossed for me.. I am off to Drayton now so 3days with no progress but it should charge my batteries up. And Pudzz is going to his first Rod Run in his own Rod.. should be good.
