You Light up my life
Page 13

Well here we go again, if I make any mistakes writing this it is because I
have my head phones on listening to Hard-Fi (they are ace!) And it will soon be
the Easter Holidays. But what does worry me is people ARE actually reading my
tripe and are under the impression I know what I am doing *shock*.... So
I best start getting serious on the jobs I do so nobody else will follow my
tripe and make mistakes also.... So what have I been up to??
When
after much looking thinking and absolutely no positive feedback on my Mini
lights I have hid them away under my bench until they are in fashion and
everyone else can see my vision ha ha ;o) So what am I going to use, well some
59 Caddy lights, I knew they would look good and suit the look, I was not sure
they would be bright enough, but the advent of LED Bulbs hopefully they will
be.. I was going to French (fancy using something French) them in the wings...
they
arrived today along with my short front shox... so things will be progression a
big whack very soon... well after the Easter Hols they will..
Well I started on the LPG fitting , I made a frame up to help secure the tank
to the bed sides, had to be bolted so I could still take the bed to bits for
painting. once that was made up and the filler fit in the bottom side panel...
things were moving on.

Just look at that rust starting eh, 50bloody years in California and no rust, 2 bloody weeks outside in the Uk and it sets in.. damn stuff ;o)

Tank is a
whacker eh. should get me a few miles cheaply... Once the floor is in and the
whole caboodle is bolted with big load spreading plates underneath,
the job should be cracking Grommit. I have a couple of parts missing from the
kit I have yet to source... proving a bit difficult so far.. *hum?*

Sheeeeet the engine bay is looking busy now... *hum?*... I love the look of an Uncluttered engine bay... but lets face it, that is not going to happen in this case... I heard Indian Larry (one of my heroes, the world is a less brighter without him) say how he liked seeing the mechanical'ness of machines, I gotta agree, I love seeing lots of parts that make something work. So they will be on show and shown with pride... I mean just look at Ha Ha... it makes me laugh every time I look at the engine bay... its crazy... with pipes and canisters and vacuum do da's.... I just gotta make it look neatly done come final build time...

Oh nearly forgot I have lowered the seat
it is only 2 inch lower but makes for a much nicer driving
position and not as Trucky.
Well it was quiet at work so I had the afternoon off and fit my new fully
adjustable shorter Gaz Shox Thanks Robin Eve for getting me sorted with them...
with hind site I should of gone even shorter but they are better than the std
ones and have stiffened the front up a treat. Though I may have to replace the
front springs I fear, the height is just how I want it, but there is not a lot of movement until the jag bump stops hit. If I need to change the springs its not a major problem
just a pain in the arse, and will lift the front up, just what I don't want but
function over form as I do intend to use this Truck... We'll see.

If only I was running a hemi and some 97's eh a white or red engine bay would be
the ticket or even leopard skin effect and no hood yeah!!

But alas my engine bay is one busy mother so best keep that hood firmly shut eh!
Looks great I think.
Well I had to fit the front metalwork didn't I, know you can see just what it is
gonna look like when it hits the street.. Cool eh!
